Ekweremadu Returns As Deputy Senate President
Things are gradually taking shape in the Senate. Senator, Ike Ekweremadu has been elected the deputy Senate President. He was nominated by Abie Sekibo from Rivers State. Mr. Ekweremadu is a member of the minority Peoples Democratic Party. He was elected in a apparent power sharing deal that had the influential-minority PDP back the new senate president, Bukola Saraki. Ike Ekweremadu is a Nigerian lawyer from Enugu State and a member of the People’s Democratic Party who has been a senator since May 2003 and is now Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate for the second consecutive time.
