Fidelity Bank Plc, one of Nigeria's leading banks, has been adjudged as the best bank to work for in Nigeria.

In a recent study conducted by Venture Africa, an online platform for news and analysis about African businesses, in conjunction with Jobberman.com, Nigeria’s leading employment website, Fidelity Bank Plc., is the only bank among the top 12 most preferred places to work in Nigeria.

The report tagged "Top 100 companies for Nigerian millennials" surveyed young Nigerians born between 1982 and 2003 and measured company culture, dream-company, staff welfare, gender equality, government institution, company’s prestige, salary, and non-salary benefits. It also looked at the level of satisfaction, salary consideration, level of contentment, career growth, concerns outside work and work-life balance amongst others.

According to the organizers, Fidelity led Fidelity led all other banks in the country in all the measuring indices.

In a statement, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Fidelity Bank Plc, Nnamdi Okonkwo said that the development is a testament to the bank’s robust human capital management policies which focuses on enhancing the lives and wellbeing of employees. He explained that Fidelity places a premium in supporting and rewarding the performance of its people. I’m not fighting Fashola, says Tinubu

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has distanced himself from the recent attacks against former Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State.

Tinubu added that the attacks were being sponsored by the Peoples Democratic Party.

Tinubu, who is a former governor of Lagos State, said this in a statement issued by his media office on Wednesday.

Fashola, according to a report on the state government’s website, spent N78.3m on his personal website, www.tundefashola.com <http://www.tundefashola.com/> and N139m to construct two boreholes at the Lagos House, Ikeja, when he was governor.

There had been speculations that the reports were being sponsored by Tinubu as part of efforts to discredit him and deny him the opportunity of being appointed a minister by President Muhammadu Buhari.

However, Tinubu said the allegations against him (Tinubu), were the handiworks of mischief makers sponsored by the PDP.

The statement partly read, "The PDP is just recently out of office at the federal level and it built a vast, unprecedented financial war chest to contest the elections. The residual of that war chest is still at work, buying media space to plant rumours in hopes of spreading discord through the APC.

"Thus, the enemy camp may be a minority but it is a large and well-funded one that knows it only chance lies in us attacking ourselves."

The APC leader said he had nothing against his successor, Fashola. He said Fashola served the state meritoriously for eight years.

He, therefore, condemned those calling for Fashola’s probe.

He said any criticism of Fashola was an indictment on him because he was instrumental to making Fashola governor.

He said, "Our political opponents now try to steal victory when their only entitlement is resounding defeat. Having fared woefully with the electorate, their game plan is to sow discord within the ranks of the party the people had chosen to lead them. The PDP hopes to strike a division in the APC, in that way weakening us and our ability to govern.

"This brings me to recent developments in the Lagos political scene. Born of this motley stew is the recent gossip mongering that I have wilfully instigated false and negative reports against former Governor Fashola to thwart him from being appointed to a major post in the Buhari administration.

"I want to declare clearly and categorically that these rancid attacks do not come from me nor do I endorse them. Neither my hand nor my heart is in these mean submissions. I deplore them.

"An attack against the performance of Governor Fashola is indirectly an attack against me and the edifice of achievements we have constructed in leading Lagos State out of a protracted time of stagnation and into an era of sustained progress and development."

He said he and Fashola will forever remain close because they had struggled together.

He said having ensured that his party retained Lagos for over 16 years, it would be unwise of him to pull down what he helped build.

He added, "I for one will not bend to the artificial provocation of those seeking to tear at what we have painstakingly built over the years. In my mind, Governor Fashola and I alliance is unshakeable and our journey must not be interrupted. I would no more attack his character or his administration than I would attack myself."

#FreeSeunOloketuyi: Veteran Journalist Remanded In Prison Over Defamation

As persecution of journalists continue in Nigeria, the News Agency of Nigeria reported that the Police in Lagos on Tuesday arraigned a publisher of a news website, Naijahottestgist.com, before a Federal High Court, Lagos for allegedly publishing a defamatory story against the Managing Director of Fidelity Bank Plc.

The accused, Seun Oloketuyi, 39, is standing trial on a two-count charge bordering on defamation.

The Prosecutor, Mr Olakanmi Omisope, told the court that the accused committed the alleged offences sometime in June, in Lagos.

He said that the accused, knowingly and intentionally, published a defamatory story on the internet against one Mr Nnamdi Okonkwo, the Managing Director of Fidelity Bank Plc.

Omisope alleged that the accused published the said defamatory story in www.naijahottestgist.com, in order to annoy, and insult Okonkwo.

The prosecutor also alleged that the accused knew that the information he published was false.

He said that the offences contravened Section 24 (1) (b) of the Cybercrime (Prohibition Prevention) Act, 2015, and Section 375 of the Criminal Code Act, Cap C38, Laws of the Federation.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, however, urged the court to remand the accused in prison custody pending trial.

Counsel to the Accused, Mr A. A. Adetunji, asked the court to allow him make an oral application for bail of the accused.

However, the trial judge, Justice Mohammed Yunusa, in his ruling, remanded the accused in Ikoyi prison, and adjourned the case to Sept. 1, for hearing of a formal application for bail.

NAN reports that Section 24 (1) of the Cybercrime Act provides that any person who intentionally or knowingly sends a message which is grossly offensive or obscene and found to be false, by means of computer network, is liable on conviction to a fine of N7, 000 or three years imprisonment or both.

Reports of the remand of the said publisher in prison custody has again brought to fore the issue of Libel, defamation and the legalities surrounding them.

Is defamation to be treated as a criminal case as has been the precedent in Nigeria in recent times?

According to Akintunde Esan, a legal practitioner and popular blogger: "The right to freedom of expression, in a civilized society is subject to the right of others not to have their reputation injured. Thus, every person has a right to the protection of his good name, reputation and the estimation, which he stands in the society of his or her fellow citizens. Consequently, in Nigeria, whoever utters, publishes, broadcasts, communicates or telecasts anything injurious to the good name, or reputation of anothercommits both a tort and a criminal offence.

This legal illumination is focused on defamation as a civil wrong or tort in Nigeria judicial jurisprudence, though occasionally reference to defamation as a criminal offence may be made.

Esan breaks down defamation as follows:

What is a Defamatory Statement?
The tort of defamation has to do with injury to the reputation of a person resulting from words written or spoken by others against him. It is now settled from case law that, a defamatory statement or imputation consists of the publication to a third person or persons of any words or matter that has the following effects:-

i. To lower the person defamed or claimant in the estimation of right-thinking members of society generally; or

ii. To cut him off from society; or

iii. To expose him or her to hatred, contempt or ridicule; or

iv. To cause other persons to shun or avoid him or her; or

v. To discredit him or her in his office, trade or profession; or

vi. To injure his or her financial credit

(Credit: Akintunde Esan's Legal Illuminations)

Mr. Esan explained that the criminal code adequately covers defamation and where proven the offender may be sued under the law.

In the case of Olokuteyi, we can't help but wonders if defamation has been proved and in any case, and why was he remanded, is it not a bailable offence? For how long will journalists be persecuted by the high and mighty who have more money and muscles than the journalist?

We do hope that Mr Oloketuyi is getting the best legal representation and that the Nigerian Union of Journalists is keeping abreast of the case and actively involved.

'I beat my wife for refusing to have sex with me' – 40 year old man tells court

A man named Salau Kehinde who was accused of beating his wife told a
Customary Court in Ikorodu, Lagos that he indeed physically abuses his
wife whenever she refuses to have sex with him.

His wife, Shakirat approached the court seeking for dissolution of their
10-year old marriage that has produced two children. This was because
of his continuous assault anytime she returned from work and refused to
have sex because she was either too tired or for other reasons.

According to Vanguard Newspaper the woman requested that the court dissolve their marriage and grant
her custody of the children.

Reacting to the wife’s accusation, Kehinde accepted the claim that he
used to beat her whenever she denied him sex and if she came home late
from her trading business.

He said, "She refuses to cook for me when she is pregnant. She also said I should look for another wife."

He however promised to stop beating or threatening her and will take her back if she wants to stay with him.

The Court adjourned the case for possible reconciliation.

As the refineries return

WITH the reports of reactivation of local refineries, Nigerians, who have lost all hope and succumbed to a fraudulent petroleum products importation regime and subsidy claims that have almost bled the economy to death, have every reason to cheer.
More cheering is the news that the refineries are projected to hit their near-installed capacities in a couple of months. Considering the economic gains from this and in the light of more than a decade of facility waste following fitful operations, this is laudable. And from indications, the portents are that the refineries can and would be run profitably.

The journey to Nigeria’s sorry pass over the refineries has been a long sad one in which a nation built for its future with one hand and tears it down with the other.

Corruption, greed, inept management, poor political leadership and many other ills combined to truncate what was designed as a great future and a potentially great country into a beggar.

The Port Harcourt refinery, one of those coming on stream now was denied regular maintenance over the years and was in such a deplorable condition that to get back it had to be through the “gradual energizing of component units,” according to experts.

In essence, the damage was so enormous and it would require more care in handling, and extra funds that could have been saved with scheduled maintenance is being spent to bring back that facility.

This notwithstanding, the current rehabilitation efforts should be sustained for further breakthrough as sustainability is the key to the refineries’ viability.

Nothing must ever stand in the way of their continuous run while conscious official effort is made to establish higher capacity refineries which would provide for multi-dimensional layers of job creation and business opportunities.

Also, this would encourage the completion of other private refineries by indigenous investors in Lekki, Lagos. It is completely against all reason for an oil- producing country to find itself in such a dire situation of complete reliance on importation of products for about a decade.

There is no better way to advertise leadership deficit and admit, even celebrate, the triumph of buccaneers whose interest in the country’s economic survival is nil.

Never again must Nigerians witness the inglorious era of lack amid plenty, where unscrupulous persons leverage their connection to those in power to continuously milk the nation while causing misery for fellow citizens.

With the once-moribund Port Harcourt Refinery Company (PHRC) and the Warri Refinery and Petrochemical Company (WRPC) where improved maintenance activities are yielding salutary results, Nigeria’s story appears to be changing for the better.

PHRC could be operating at 90 per cent capacity and above by the first quarter of 2016 with the completion of the current rehabilitation.

In particular, it is also reassuring that the major overhaul is being facilitated by competent in-house human capacity and indigenous contractors.

Interestingly, reports said some of the already overhauled facilities which have ramped up production to the current 60 per cent capacity are ready for commissioning in a few weeks.

The laudable efforts of the engineers should be an inspiration for further progress for Nigerians in the oil industry. The WRPC, commissioned in 1978 and upgraded in 1987, is reportedly at 50 per cent production capacity which yields about 4,612,500 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) per day.
-The Guardian Newspaper
Indeed, Warri refinery is regaining its status as the hub of economic activities in Warri and environs with the return of the refinery. At installed capacity, it could do more.

This capacity, taken along PHRC’s details and the contribution from the Kaduna Petroleum Refining Company (KPRC) which is also receiving attention would go a long way to ameliorate the damage done to Nigeria over the years.

With presumed sound management and transparency in the industry which President President Buhari is fighting to enthrone, the gap between demand and supply can then be bridged.

Only transparent crude oil swap deals that will substantially reduce or totally eliminate subsidy calls by import-obsessed marketers should be allowed.

One other advantage is that ancillary businesses will spring up in tandem with the reactivation of the complexes. For instance, the petrochemical plants would be able to address production of fertilizer and raw materials for plastic manufacturing and related sectors.

The benefits of a sustained refinery run are indeed limitless. Apparently, the challenges in the industry are daunting as well as multi-dimensional, including for instance engineering control and operations.

That, however, cannot and should not be a hindrance to seamless operations if the tasks are properly handled by the right personnel. Of course, sabotage in the system is a possibility but could also be handled.

Again, there has always been the challenge of mustering the political will to allocate enough crude to the refineries because preference had always been for shady oil swap deals for selfish interests.

The best technocrats in competence and integrity are needed who would not succumb to temptations to manipulate the system. They can be found among Nigerian engineers who must be so encouraged or challenged to give their best.

No self-respecting nation should put its fate in the hands of foreigners in many sectors even when local experts or professionals are available.

Thousands of Nigerian professionals are making waves in their assignments on the global stage – medicine, engineering, sciences, the arts and more – and are being recognised regularly for their exploits or contributions.

The atmosphere at home should also be made more conducive for many others to excel. Current developments on the refineries point to a Nigeria finding its bearing and ready to take the right steps to its glorious destiny. This forward movement must be sustained.

Arase and his dream Police Force

POLICE Inspector-General Solomon Arase played the same tune as his predecessors when he admonished senior officers to stop illegal deployment of junior officers providing security for Very Important Personalities (VIPs) who are not entitled to such service.

However, talking tough alone would not do the magic as the culture of deploying for cash is long ingrained in the system and would be very difficult to dislodge. A new orientation must, therefore, be imbibed by all officers and men to synchronise with the desire of the present administration for a decent, orderly society with no room for impunity.

It remains an open secret that over the years, the police service has been having a running battle with some of its personnel, giving the Force the image of a corrupt institution in which anything goes. Indeed, some senior police officers who ought to lead by example have also been a corrupting influence on the young ones, assigning them to untenable duties for pecuniary gains.

Now, Arase is targeting punishment for those officers in the cadre of divisional unit heads (DPOs) and other members of the senior cadre who engage in illegal posting of juniors. Moreover, he has cautioned policemen against abandoning duty posts at night because he observed that most of them disappear from duty about midnight. That is a very serious indictment of his men and it says a lot on recurring public complaints about laxity on the part of those who are paid to secure lives and property and why criminals might have been having a field day.

Officers who should make the rounds and ensure their men are on duty, the IG noted during a parley with officers and men of the FCT Command, Abuja, "go to sleep" and leave duty men on their own, mindless of the security implications for citizens. Arase has spoken but Nigerians wait for that day a DPO or Area Commander would, if and when he is caught, be severely sanctioned for deploying policemen illegally to unauthorised persons as he had threatened.

The IGP may even not need to wait to catch an officer because such illegal deployments are all too evident with policemen running after all manner of politicians, businessmen, even religious leaders now, of course for a fee as pre-arranged by superior officers. Worse still, wives of some of these persons also have policemen at their beck and call. This, to say the least, is a disgrace to the police uniform which is a symbol of the nation.

Ridiculously also some policemen fix private security jobs for themselves, working as escorts for goods in trucks belonging to businessmen or importers, all for degrading fees. What greater debasement of a nation’s ethos can there be?

It is not an excuse but the truth is that most policemen find themselves in dire economic straits arising from delayed payments of salaries or outright denial of entitlements by those who are privileged to be handling their allowances and incentives. Thus, they have become susceptible to all temptations. A former police chief was convicted of mismanaging billions of naira of the Force’s money and does not augur well for the image of the institution. Arase must avoid such pitfalls.

The police chief also touched on a sore fixture in the service: collecting bribe from motorists and other members of the public, a shameless act which he said "makes them look like beggars receiving alms…tips which do not translate into any tangible amount." Daily collections on the roads (before the order dismantling checkpoints), of course, do translate to something tangible at the end of the day for the officers who indulge in it but at a huge cost to the image of the police and at a huge risk to members of the public whose safety is thus compromised.

It is instructive that illegal detention also attracted his comments. His advice to officers to "engage in arbitration and mediation instead of detaining individuals and demanding for surety for bail" sounds right. Bail, the police claim, is free but from all indication it is a good source of making money for an average policeman.

However, Arase’s reformist words are noted but he should follow up his plan for changes with decisive action. He has done well with the return of Safer Highways to which men have been deployed, splitting the SARS into two major units of operations and investigation instead of the previous arrangement whereby same officers cover both. He should do more and his moves should go beyond verbal directives. Monitoring and enforcement are crucial to success.

Incidentally, a couple of days ago, the House of Representatives took up the issue of inadequate policing and urged the government to ensure massive recruitment to enhance capacity as well as adequate welfare packages for officers. By the statistics provided, current carrying capacity is 370,000 police men to 170 million Nigerians.

This is an abysmal ratio for effective policing grossly inadequate compared to United Nations’ recommendation of 222 officers and men to 100,000 citizens. Good enough, President Buhari has also ordered the recruitment of 10,000 officers on merit. But the matter of incentives to officers and men cannot be over-emphasised if citizens would get the best on civil security.

Nigerians are tired of institutional failures engendered by leadership inadequacy. If Arase makes a success of his assignment and avoids his predecessors’ failures with similarly promised reforms, history will have a rich chapter on him. Now he is still writing his own testimonial and he should keep his focus on that possible chapter in history.

Revealed: Real Reasons Beauty Queen, Dabota Lawsons Marriage to Billionaire Sunny Aku Crashed! …Her Mother and Davidos’ Connection

Following the story that broke yesterday on the troubles Ex beauty queen is facing in her marriage that eventually cause and alleged crash, we can authoritatively revealed that Ex Miss Nigeria UK, Dabota Lawson’s marriage has finally hit the rock.

It could be recalled that the 8 month old marriage to Billionaire business man Chief Sunny Aku was a much celebrated shindig, which got the attention of many at the time, basically because of the age difference between the duos.

We gathered reliably that the marriage met a brick wall due to many reasons and situations surrounding the sex savvy former beauty queen. Information reaching us revealed therefore that her mother was one of the contributors to the crashed marriage.

We gathered that she has always allegedly advised her wrongly and indirectly use her to gather wealth from her billionaire husband.

A very dependable source hinted us that several times the mother has always helped Dabota to cover up before her husband on her many escapades and this was unknown to many until when a very good friend of Chief Aku informed him secretly of seeing her with different men at different location.

Another source who is very close to Dabota's family revealed to us that this has been a major issue in the Lawsons family, tracing it back to her other sisters who are not presently in any husbands house.

We gathered that Dabota's 3 different sisters as you read this report are currently not in any mans house because of one or two advises their mother gave them which unavoidably led to their crashed marriages.

Another source on the island that is very close to Dabota confided in us that she is never satisfied with her husband sexually which was why she dates younger boys, and people of her age bracket. "You can imagine a young girl like that dating different people here and there, and one of her friend even told me that she was dating one of the rave of the moment in music" the source told us.

Investigation by us further revealed that her relationship with Davido, at some point was not just platonic as they were both seen to be an item before she decided to walk out of Davidos life looking at his status in the industry and avoiding the fear of anyone sighting them in some secret places.

Our investigation further revealed that the ex-beauty queen had since last weekend packed out her loads from the husbands house and have refused to return home ignoring Chief Aku's phone calls and text messages.

A dependable source hinted us that she was caught unaware when the story broke yesterday and she quickly ran to the house with some people to take a picture with the Man so as to cover up for the news, but this we gathered did not help her, as Chief Aku is not considering taking her back since she personally packed her things out herself..

Speaking on the alleged marriage crash Dabota Lawson denied the story vehemently on her instagram page, but from the tone of the denial anyone can easily discover lies and deceit on her.

He said the child’s remains have been deposited at Alade Idanre General Hospital mortuary in the town for postmortem examination after pictures were taken.

I’ve not had sex in a while –Moyo Lawal

Believe her or not, delectable actress, Moyo Lawal, told Saturday Beats that she has not had sex in a while and she is too busy to entertain such thoughts.

She said, "I am not dating anybody but I would start dating soon. I haven’t had sex in a while. I work too hard to think of sex. I am always on set and even during my free time, I always have an event to attend. I honestly don’t even have the time to think that I am single. The only time I remember that I am single is when my father asks me about my private life and family members ask me when the wedding bells would ring. I have so many people who look after me and I am forever grateful especially my fans."

She told Saturday Beats that she is always amazed when people tell her she is sexy because she does not feel she is pretty.

"In all honesty, I don’t think I am sexy. I make sure I am myself at all times and I don’t know why people think I’m sexy. I don’t think I am pretty and I’m not tall, I’m just myself," she said.

Lawal lost her mother two years ago and she told Saturday Beats that she misses her every day. She told Saturday Beats that she celebrated her mother’s second year remembrance in the hospital that she worked because she wanted to be close to her mum.

"My mother died two years ago and I miss her every day. She had a heart attack and we don’t know what triggered it. I was with her on her last day but I was not there with her when she died. My mother was a nurse and I always loved spending time with her at the hospital because it made me appreciate life. So for her second year anniversary, I went to the hospital where she worked and I spent some time with her colleagues and some children in the hospital. Being around people she worked with reminded me of her. It was my own way of spending time with my mother and bringing her back to life," she said.

Why Ooni’s wives can’t re-marry

The wives of the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, the Olubuse II, by tradition cannot re-marry after the demise of their husband, according to a palace chief.

The chief, who preferred not to be named, said the order was prescribed by the Ife tradition since the Ooni is not considered dead but to have transited to a higher realm.

Maintaining that the Ooni still lives, he said it is forbidden for wives left behind by Oba Sijuwade to re-marry.

He said: "The rules is general and applies to all Ooni that has passed on and not peculiar to the wives of Oba Sijuwade, the immediate past Ooni. There may not be a clearly defined repercussion against the tradition but it is advisable that the order is obeyed at all times and for all generations. The best that can happen to the oloris left behind by any late Ooni is for them to remain single or be inherited by the reigning Ooni."

He added that it does not matter whether the wives are young or old, "what matters is that the tradition must be sustained in the overall interest of the society."

The late Ooni’s wives are Oloris Morisola, Ladun, Odunayo, Adedolapo and Linda and their ages are between 40’s and 60’s.

The first wife, Olori Yetunde, the mother of the first son, Prince Adetokubo, died some years ago, long before Oba Sijuwade.

All I need to steal any car is wire – Car robbery suspect

If there is one thing Kehinde Oluomo has become adept at doing, it is carjacking. According to him, no matter what brand or how high-tech a car is, all he needs to break into it and steal it is a piece of wire.

Oluomo, who was arrested by the Nigerian Police Force, Kwara State command, confessed to having stolen six cars through this means.

The suspect, who said he was from Lagos State, explained that he started car robbery in 2013.

According to him, his strategy was to monitor where vehicles were parked, ensured that nobody was watching him and then he broke into the vehicle with the aid of a wire.

He, however, pleaded for forgiveness, saying he would never be involved in car stealing again if he is released.

"I stole cars and sold them off. I normally sold to Sakiru (his co-accused). I have stolen only six cars. I brought the cars from Lagos to sell in Ilorin. I stole my first car in 2013,"Oluomo said.

His co-accused, who identified himself simply as Sakiru, said he was arraigned for car theft sometime ago, but the case was later settled out of court.

He claimed that since then, he had been an informant to the police, exposing to security operatives people involved in car theft.

Sakiru said the devil pushed him into receiving a stolen car which led to his arrest by the police.

He also expressed remorse for his action, saying he would never receive or buy stolen vehicles again.

Another suspected receiver of stolen cars, Alhaji Oba Suleiman, who wept intermittently when they were being paraded by the police, said he sometimes bought stolen cars for as little as N25,000.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Kwara State Police Command, Mr. Ajayi Okesanmi, said the suspects were arrested in Ilorin on Monday by the anti-car theft team of the command through the efforts of the men of the command’s Intelligence and Investigation Department.

According to him, the suspects led the team to recover five different cars from different locations.

The PPRO stated that the recovered exhibits included one Mazda 626 car with registration number MUS 995 DC; Rav 4 Toyota SUV with registration number ARP 123 MY; Volkswagen bus with registration number EQ 819 ABY; Toyota comfort car with registration number BB 855 MWR and Toyota bus with registration number APP 965 CX.

How Mikel Obi Snubbed Sunday Oliseh In London

Since the new coach of the Nigerian National team, Sunday Oliseh, released the lists of his invited players to camp who would be picked for the forthcoming 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Tanzania, fans have been questioning the exclusion of some vital players.

While responding to questions from journalists in Abuja, the head coach of the team explained that he had taken a tour round Europe to speak and watch players perform and has made various consultations and still waiting for response.

On why he did not invite Chelsea star, Mikel Obi, the coach explained that he had put a call through to the player’s line about four times including a text message but was yet to get a response from the player.

He noted that it was only Victor Moses, that acknowledged his call and later came down to his hotel room where he had to talk to him to be focus in his games.

"Well this issue is an enigma and we have been trying to understand it but I am in the dark personally, and with my assistants we spent time about 11 days in and around Europe talking to players, watching games. We contacted each of the players, call them up, call the clubs and eventually met with the players.

"I went to England on a Thursday and Chelsea was just coming back, we had fixed our visit to coincide with the end of their tour before they played Arsenal. I contacted Obi Mikel, called him on phone four times, the phone kept on ringing nobody picked it up, I sent him an SMS and got no response. But I called Victor Moses the phone rang three times and he picked it up and I spoke with him, told him to concentrate on his game.

After the game he came to my hotel and we met and I told him my plans for the national team. I left to Liverpool to meet the other player and I spent about six hours to go there and back but there was no response from Mikel until I returned here.

I think it was yesterday (Wednesday) that I saw a missed call, so at the moment I don’t know what the situation is. For me everybody is the same and will be treated the same."

ISIS: Buhari suspends Immigration boss

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday ordered the suspension of the Comptroller-General of Immigration, David Parradang with immediate effect.

Saturday PUNCH learnt that Parradang’s suspension might not be unconnected with the ongoing investigations into how a Lebanese terrorist, Ahmed Al Assir was given a Nigerian visa by the Nigerian embassy in Beruit, Lebanon.

Parradang was directed to hand over to the most senior officer, DCG, Martin Kure Abeshi, who had been ordered to take over the affairs of the service, according to a statement by the Director of Press, Ministry of Interior, Alhaji Yusuf Isiaka.

The statement on the suspension read, "The Comptroller-General of Nigeria Immigration Service, Mr. David Parradang, has been suspended from office with immediate effect. "Meanwhile, the Deputy Comptroller-General of Immigration, Mr. Martin Kure Abeshi, who is the most senior officer has been directed to take over the affairs of the office."

President Muhammadu Buhari was reported on Wednesday to have ordered investigations into how the terrorist got the Nigerian visa.

Our correspondent had exclusively reported on Friday that the officials of the NIS and foreign ministry might be sanctioned seriously, if found to have been negligent in the course of duty.

Assir, who had been on the wanted list of Lebanese security forces, was arrested at the airport last week while attempting to visit Cairo, Egypt, en route to Nigeria on a forged Palestinian passport.

He was accused of involvement in the death of 17 Lebanese soldiers and was sentenced to death by the court in 2013. The embassy in Lebanon had denied culpability, saying the fugitive did not apply to the Mission for visa, stressing that the Nigerian visa on his fake Palestinian passport was forged.

The embassy, had in a diplomatic brief, explained that Assir, who was of Palestinian extraction, had undergone surgery to alter his appearance so as to evade detection by security operatives.

It stated that the wanted terrorist had been using aliases to evade arrest, adding that the pseudonym was not on the watch list of the Lebanese security forces.

Our correspondent gathered that security agencies planned to conduct a DNA testing on Assir to confirm his identity.

Checks indicate that with the suspension of the immigration boss, other officials involved in the visa processing at the Nigerian embassy in Lebanon would be heavily sanctioned, including the Nigerian ambassador to Lebanon, Amos Oluwole.

Before the hammer fell on him, Parradang had reportedly said that there were no immigration officials at the embassy in Lebanon.

"We don’t have immigration officers in that country. We understand that the president has ordered investigation into it, so we are waiting for the outcome of the investigation," he was quoted to have said.

The immigration service under Parradang had in 2014 come under scathing criticisms over a recruitment exercise in which about 20 applicants died and scores injured.

The tragedy occurred at examination centres in the Federal Capital Territory, Port Harcourt, Minna, Gombe, and Benin.

About 6.5 million who applied for the 4,000 vacant slots were made to pay N1, 000 application fee.

Parradang had denied culpability for the incident and blamed the then Minister of Interior, Abba Moro whom he said conducted the exercise without carrying the NIS along.

The administration of former president Goodluck Jonathan subsequently set up a presidential panel to probe the incident with a mandate to also employ the relations of deceased applicants into the immigration service.

Moro was however not sanctioned for the incident and a probe by the Senate did not see the light of the day as the report was not tabled for debate.

Breast orgasm, a myth or reality?

A man recently walked into my office with his wife and looked straight into my eyes and said, ‘Please can you teach me how to make my wife experience a breast orgasm?’

‘Breast orgasm’, I asked? And he nodded and repeated after me and said, ‘Yes Madam, breast orgasm’. He continued, ‘My marriage clocked four years yesterday and I have done all to make my wife respond to me. But she seems not to be interested in sex with me in particular, because, according to her, I only waste her time and kill her libido during sex. And after long hours of persuasion and pleading, she would simply say her idea of good sex is when I make her experience breast orgasm. She said that was what her former boyfriend used to do to make her enjoy sex to the ultimate level.

‘Madam, apart from the fact I was psychologically deflated that my wife still preferred another man on bed or still carried the memories of her former lover, I also want to learn and do better,’ he said.

The breasts are one of the erogenous zones and while some women are able to reach orgasm from breast stimulation alone, some others may not be able to. The idea of some women experiencing breast orgasm with or without any genital stimulation could sound stressful and perplexing to many husbands who do not see any reasons for foreplay or love play. But this is, by 80 per cent, one of the many libidoral fantasies of a good number of married women. The fear of, ‘how will my husband respond to this if I bring up the subject’, has incapacitated this idea from the mind of many of these wives.

The orgasm this category of women normally feel is not just in their nipples, but throughout their breasts, though more intense around the areolas. Scientifically, the breasts can swell up to 25 per cent when a woman is aroused. This boost makes the breasts super sensitive, and quite larger. Nipple stimulation actually activates the same region of the brain as clitoral, vaginal and cervical stimulation do. Research has discovered that stimulation of the nipple activates an area of the brain known as the genital sensory cortex. This is the same brain region activated by stimulation of the clitoris, vagina and cervix. What this means is that women’s brains seem to process nipple and genital stimulation in the same way. In the light of this, it is not at all surprising that many wives are aroused by having their nipples rightfully touched and that, for some, this may be enough to lead to orgasm. During this time, the nipple actually goes from a pale erected organ to a deeper manner, the more a woman is aroused. This is true because the blood flow increases when a woman is turned on. This sexy gentle nipple stimulation may be what it takes to send many wives over the edge for orgasm and the desire for passionate sex. As a matter of fact, this is the most compensatory help for many circumcised wives.

However, just as breasts come in all shapes, sizes and colours, wives’ preferences during breast play do differ. Majority of women may love having their nipples caressed while some might find this not important. Also, breast sensitivity changes with women’s menstrual cycles, so what some wives may literally like this week, may be a piss off the next week. The mysterious rhythm of a woman’s body is kind of exciting. It is very needful for the husband to understudy this and be equipped with relevant facts.

A woman’s breasts contain the same trigger-happy nerves found in the clitoris making breast orgasm the second most common form of orgasms for women. That is the reason the nipples reach out for more when kissed, caressed or stimulated. But most husbands simply ignore these magnificent twin globes in a rush to head down south to get to where they think is the best possibility for orgasm.

The woman’s breasts at any stage, (even if the shape is pendulum, flat, small, sagged) have a direct hotline to her clitoris and when breast play is done with skill and finesse, it can lead to a dazzling multiple orgasm for her. At the very least, breast and nipple stimulation can even over-raise the libido of a woman that has undergone bad circumcision, and send her arousal soaring with pleasure!

Just as there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ bra, there isn’t any one method that will work for every wife all the time. Breast sensitivity, hormonal changes, her personal preferences, etc., will influence your choice of technique. If you, as the husband, are not sure as at how best to proceed, you both can be naked and sit facing each other in the nude and get her to show you what arouses her.

Think about it, inasmuch as you wouldn’t like it if your wife just grabbed your penis out of nowhere and started jerking it around roughly, she needs to be warmed up first by light, soft and slow stimulation. And please don’t just do one thing over and over. It may become too repetitive and boring, and even if she loved it at first, after a while it would lose its effect. You’ll get the best results by using a combination of different stimulation techniques.

You’re starting off soft, so try tracing circles with the tip of your finger over her stomach and chest, gradually moving in to the breasts and nipples.

Experiment with licking, nibbling, sucking and stroking the neck, chest and nipple area. Assess her arousal either by watching if her nipples rise, darken and intensify or through the sex sounds she makes. You can also place your hands over hers and ask her to show you how she wants to be pleasured.

Keep in mind that the more turned on she becomes, the more sensation she would be able to endure. So start off slowly and gently by using the feathery touch of your fingertips to stroke the delicate skin of her breast. Slide your fingers down across her breast, making slow, lazy circles over it; slide your palms in circular motions around the entire breast area. Press firmly. You can either do one breast at a time or use both hands and do both together. Continue even after her nipples become erect. Cup as much of each breast in your hands as possible and move them around. Massage them. Squeeze them gently then more firmly. Massage the nipples with or without oil or the saliva of your tongue. Press on them. Roll them gently between your thumb and forefinger. Use firmer and firmer pressure. Use one hand to encircle her breast and push it up and out similar to a push-up bra.

Slide your hands over her breasts, cupping them with the palms of your hands. Knead them, cup them, and massage them gently, then more firmly, varying your speed and pressure. You should consider using a massage oil or lotion to make your hands slide over her skin more easily. Use oil or lotion to begin stimulating her nipples over and again. Run your fingers over them. Press them. Roll them between your thumb and index finger. Remember to keep her sensitivity in mind here and at all time. As much as you don’t want to hurt her, you should try to give enough stimulation to make it really pleasurable. Pull on them with slow-fast, repetitive strokes. It is all about maximum masculine control and maximum feminine pleasure. One of the beauties of this is that it helps many husbands with premature ejaculation to be able to practice Kegel exercise at the same time this is going on. Cup her breast with one hand and push it up. This has the effect of pushing her nipple out making it firm and temptingly inviting. Rotate it around in a circular motion with the pads of your fingers. At this stage, you can now move on to using your mouth. Use your tongue to lick her breast from the bottom all the way up and over her nipple. Give her open mouth wet kisses all over her breasts and nipples. Run your tongue softly over her nipples in a flat position. Then flex your tongue and flick the nipple with it. For some categories of wives who would love to be ‘fingered’, this is the right time to dip your finger into her vagina and roll the finger inside her in the same manner you are rolling your tongue around her nipple. This simple treat breaks the idea of frigidity or any form of resistance from your wife. As a matter of fact, it is at this stage she will cry out loud for more.

You can still proceed further by trying to give her gentle love nibbles and bites on her breasts. Make your way to her nipples and nibble on them gently. Try covering your teeth with your wet lips first to test her sensitivity. If she has extremely sensitive nipples or is in a sensitive phase in her cycle, you might need to skip nibbling and biting all together because this could be hurting her. If you’re not sure, ask her if the pressure is okay.

Suction your mouth around her nipple and suck in and out. Run your tongue over the nipple while you suck. Kiss and lick each breast and nipple. Flick her nipples with your tongue. Gently bite then suckle her nipples then lick and blow on them. This stage is also helpful for pregnant women who are in their last stage of pregnancy as it help to soften their breast and make it succulent for the child during breast feeding because of the systemic erection and relaxation of the nipples.

Pull your lips and use them to make a seal around the nipple. Suck in and then out without breaking the seal. The nipple will feel alternating currents of vacuum and pressure. This is the stage many menopausal wives feel like a new bride one more time because it helps them to have deep sensations specially when the husband tries stimulating the breasts of his menopausal wife orally, when she is lying above you. What happens here is that her breasts will be more sensitive when they are hanging down because of the increased blood supply to the nipples. Some other categories of women find it highly arousing when their husbands caresses their nipples with the tip of an erect penis, while some women get aroused by having an erect penis sliding in-between their well-oiled breasts as they are being squeezed together.

Remember, although some wives can reach orgasm from breast play, not all women would be able to. But there is no harm in trying. However, don’t put pressure on yourself or her to achieve this result. Just enjoy yourself! Breast play can also magnify a clitoral or G spot orgasm, so any of these techniques can also be used in combination with stimulating other parts of her body for a truly intense experience.

These are ways husbands can learn how to stimulate their wives’ breasts to the state and stage of powerful breast orgasm. So what are you still waiting for? Get down together while I eagerly await your feedback!

Banker Kuru replaces Chike-Obi as AMCON boss

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday dissolved the management team of the Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) led by Mustafa Chike-Obi.

A statement by Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President Mr. Femi Adesina, announced a new management team for the corporation.

The new team is led by Ahmed Lawan Kuru Managing Director, Kola Ayeye Executive Director, Eberechukwu Uneze Executive Director, and Aminu Ismail Executive Director.

Apart from Chike-Obi, other members of the sacked team are: Mofoluke Benedicta Dosunmu, Heweth Adegboyega Benson and Abbass Mohammed Jega

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Kuru was the Group Managing Director of Enterprise Bank Limited.

He started his banking career with the old Habib Bank in 1985 and rose through the ranks to become an Executive Director of Bank PHB (now Keystone Bank) in 2005.

The appointment of Mr. Kuru and the three AMCON Executive Directors, the statement said, is with effect from yesterday.

AMCON was established under the AMCON Act 2010 to resolve the issue of non-performing loan assets in the banking sector.

It currently has over 12,000 bad loans in its portfolio and has continued to pursue the recovery of the debts. It has sold bonds worth over N4.7 trillion in the course of its operation.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) last November, asked the Federal Government to phase out the activities of AMCON.

"Ongoing initiatives to strengthen the supervisory framework, including supervision of banking groups, should continue, and AMCON’s activities phased out gradually," Mr. Gene Leon, the Fund’s Mission Chief and Senior Resident Representative in Nigeria said.

Tinubu, others shun Fashola 's book launch

Several leaders of the All Progressives Congress were absent at the launch of three books written in honour of the immediate past Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola, in Lagos, on Tuesday

Similarly, most of the members of Fashola’s cabinet as well as his two former deputy governors, Mrs. Sarah Sosan and Mrs. Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire and members of the State Executive Committee of the APC were absent at the launch of the three books titled: "In Bold Print," "The Lagos Blowdown" and ‘The Great Leap" authored by Fashola’s media aide, Mr. Hakeem Bello; and Mr. Dapo Adeniyi.

Although the National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, sent a representative, Prof. Tunde Samuel, the book launch was in sharp contrast with that of the immediate past Governor of Rivers State, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi.

At Amaechi’s book launch which held three months ago in Lagos, Tinubu, Governor Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun), Governor Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara), Nasir el-Rufai (Kaduna), Governor Samuel Lalong (Plateau), Governor Akinwunmi Ambode (Lagos), APC National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun; Chief Bisi Akande, former Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, and many others were physically present.

The absence of former governors and leaders of the party renewed speculations that all was not well between Fashola and his former boss, Tinubu.

It was learnt the APC leaders that shunned the launch of the three books chronicling the stewardship of Fashola as governor, did so to show support to Tinubu.

Fashola, who is rumoured to be favoured by President Muhammadu Buhari to become a minister, became an object of condemnation recently when the Public Procurement Agency of the state government revealed that N78.3m was spent on the upgrade of Fashola’s website, tundefashola.com.

Fashola, who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, had responded in a six-page letter that although he did spend the said amount on his website, there were many who were working to pull him down and discredit his administration.

While delivering his address, Fashola called for proper preparation for the next population census which takes place next year.

Fashola said despite the efforts made by the state government to ensure that the population figure credited to Lagos was accurate, what was eventually released by the National Population Commission was embarrassing.

According to him, the figure conflicted even with the process the commission adopted.

He said, "The NPC told us they were going to enumerate houses before the counting. They came up with about 4.5 million houses, which we took for households, since they were residential homes. Yet, at the end, they came up with nine million as Lagos State population. Does it mean that there are only two people maybe a father and mother in each house?

"As we thus plan to begin another census, the onus is upon us to get it right in 2016. Data are very important in nation building. Efficiency, especially in governance, is determined by the knowledge of how many people need services. Without an accurate census figure, it means we are not determined to go the way of efficient service delivery."

Various dignitaries, including co-founder of Guaranty Trust Bank, Mr. Fola Adeola, who was the chairman; a former Deputy Governor of the state, Alhaja Latifat Okunu; as well as scholar and popular columnist, Prof. Olatunji Dare, lauded Fashola’s achievements when he was in office.

8 Male Behaviours That Annoy Women

Here are the eight male behaviours that annoy women.
1. Possessive

Men who think that women are an object of ownership. They want control over a woman’s every action, word or attitude even though, in reality, they have no claim over them.
2. Sloppy

Men who do not take good care of themselves, lack good hygiene and make the house messy. This is really annoying.
3. Insensitive

Women, in general, are more sentimental than men (or at least express their feelings more). This gender difference sometimes causes men to think their companions are just being dramatic. When men disregard their wives’ feelings or important events, the women feel rejected and disregarded.
4. Grumpy

Men who complain about everything, are never satisfied, not fun, rude and prefer to isolate themselves. They always see things negatively and nothing satisfies them. Any effort to help them feel positive is in vain. These men only know how to criticize everything and everyone nothing makes them happy. It is especially bad when their foul mood is directed toward women and nobody else.
5. Untrustworthy

Men who do not keep their promises and put their personal interests before their wife and family. Although they make commitments, they do not follow through on their responsibilities.
6. Procrastinator

Guys who leave everything for later and postpone helping around the house. They consistently make themselves unavailable to perform activities related to the family.
7. Self-centered

This includes vain men who think the world revolves around them. They enjoy being the center of attention and think their wife and family live to serve them. 8. Flirtatious

This seems to be the #1 complaint from women. These are the men who love to charm other ladies. This behavior is highly irritating, causes a lot of discomfort for a wife and borders on infidelity.
