Asa thrills at Convent Garden Piazza Show

Nigeria’s queen of Soul, Bukola Elemide, aka Asa gave a rousing performance at the Convent Garden Piazza, United Kingdom, on August 1. The singer, songwriter, and recording artiste is presently on the U.K. leg of her Europe tour, in promotion of her latest album Bed of Stone, proving beyond any measure of a doubt her place as a music star.
Having performed earlier in European cities like Hamburg, Barcelona, Paris and others, the soulful balladeer, who is just as comfortable on stage with a back-up band as she is accompanied only by an acoustic guitar, is able to make audience jump to their feet and wriggle to the upbeat tempo of songs like Be my Man, or capture an audience over a thousand people rapt silence as they listen to her performance of songs like Bibanke.
As a music reviewer puts it; “Nigerian-French singer/songwriter Asa has one of those voices that really make you stop in your tracks and pay attention. The vocalist is a huge name on the world music circuit and her tickets sell fast when she comes to town. Performing in a very simplistic manner, she is accompanied by a guitarist and a number of backing vocalists who add a beautiful harmony to the music.”
