President Muhammadu Buhari has relieved the Service Chiefs of their plum appointments. Nigerian military chiefs Those relieved of their jobs on Monday morning are the Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Kenneth Minimah, Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Usman jubril and Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Amosun. The Service Chiefs who are statutorily heads of the country’s military apparatus were appointed by the immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan in January 2014.
As at the time of filling this report, the replacements are yet to be announced.
