The Punch sacks 55 workers in repositioning strategy

The Punch Newspaper Plc has sacked not less than 50 of its employees as part of its reengineering strategy for greater performance. According to information gathered from sources close to the most widely read
tabloid, the workers were sacked for their inability to cope with the new ideas and strategy of the institution.
The affected staffers include line editors, reporters, correspondents of mostly old staff with few ones who were recruited about a year ago.

According to one the editorial affected who crave anonymity said he saw it coming because weeks after The Guardian Newspaper laid off 0ver 200 of its staff, the news of Punch downsizing was awash among the staff with no knowing his or her  faith until the unfortunate incident  came to reality.
Though many are still wondering why Punch reduced it workforce inspite of been  a  leader in the  market with several adverts and special projects rolling into the company.
