Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello has been penciled down for 2017 Leadership Excellence Award by The Online Publishers Association of Nigeria (OPNAN).
The governor, who is the son of the state moneybag, Alhaji Sani Bello, would be honored with North Central Governor of The Year award by the association in a matter of weeks in Minna, the Niger State capital.
The organizers while speaking during the week said both nationally and internationally, the governor is acclaimed as one of the bright hopes for the future of Nigeria; one of the very progressive governors determined to reclaim Nigeria's past glories through competent and transparent leadership.
Since his election to the office of Governor of Niger State in 2015, Mr Abubakar has demonstrated a commitment to excellence in public service and uncommon commitment to his avowed pledge to lead the change that would transform Niger State into Africa's model city.
His dogged pursuit of renewal of the infrastructure of the state as the critical strategy for economic growth and poverty alleviation has won the state honours from around the world for undertaking the fastest infrastructure renewal ever in Africa.
His unflagging spirit has led the Government to explode many negative myths about the state.
A passionate lover of children and the youth, Governor Abubakar has embarked on projects aimed at improving the opportunities open to children and youths in the state.In very unequivocal acceptance of his style of governance and the positive impact it has had on their lives, Niger State indgenes are looking forward to overwhelmingly re-elect him again for another term of 4 (four) years in 2019 general elections in the state.
