Akintoye, Joe Odumakin,others for OPC June 12 annual lecture





The annual June 12 Lecture in memory of Late Chief MKO Abíólá will hold on Monday June 12, 2017 at Excellence Hotel, Ogba Ikeja.



The event put together by Odua People’s Congress led by Otunba Gani Adams,will be chaired by the former Governor of Abia State Dr. Orji Uzoh Kalu. Guest Speaker is Dr.Chiedozie Okoro, Associate Professor, Dept. of Philosophy,University of Lagos, specialist in Applied Ontology, African Metaphysics and Development Issues.He will dwell on the topic “MKO as a Symbol of  Freedom in the History of Nigeria Democracy”.


The June 12 Lecture powered by OPC will be the 17th edition. It is to commemorate the symbol of Nigeria’s democracy,Late Chief MKO Abiola who contested in June 12 1993 to become Nigeria’s President, but the election was truncated by the then military ruler, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida (Rtd) who annulled the election and mauled Late Abíólá into detention till he died on July 7,1998.
The June 12 1993 Election Lecture will have Traditional Rulers, Prof.Banji Akintoye as Special Guest of Honour while popular activist Dr.Joe Okei  Odumakin, President Women Arise, and Prof. Charles Alade  are expected guests of honour.The National Coordinator of OPC and Worldwide Convener of OPU is the Chief Host.
